What is The SET ExT?

The SET ExT is a multidisciplinary creative studio in Chicago offering full-service production packages or studio rentals.  Our packages include: photography, video, podcasting, styling, and brand-forward production. The space is designed for artists, creatives, and professionals to experiment, collaborate, and create high-quality content in a relaxed, inspiring environment.

Who Can Use The SET ExT?

The SET ExT is available for booked sessions (full-service) and studio rentals (self-service.) We work with brands, photographers, musicians, content creators, designers, entrepreneurs, and creative teams looking for a professional studio experience.

Where Is The SET ExT Located?

We are located inside Grand House 424 at:

838 W Grand Ave
Chicago, IL 60642

The studio is street level for easy access and load-in. You’ll know you’ve arrived when you see our neon signage in the window. Please knock when you arrive and a team member will greet you.

Is There Parking?

We do not have a private parking lot, but parking is generally available:

  • Metered street parking on W Grand Ave and N Green St

  • Nearby paid parking options in the area

We recommend planning ahead and using parking apps to reserve a spot and avoid rush-hour restrictions.

Can I Get There by Train or Bus?

Yes. The SET ExT is easily accessible via public transit, with multiple CTA train and bus options nearby, as well as quick access to I-90. We are just steps away from the Grand Blue Line CTA stop.

Is the Space Accessible?

Yes — the studio is wheelchair accessible and located at street level.
Please note there are small door ledges at the entrances.

Is There an Easy Way to Load In Gear?

Yes. The studio is street level for easy load-in. If you’re bringing larger equipment, please let us know ahead of time so we can help ensure a smooth arrival.

Are There Restrooms On Site?

Yes. The studio has one all-gender restroom stocked with complimentary toiletry essentials.

How Do I Book a Studio or Session?

All sessions and studio rentals must be booked in advance (12-24 hours min.) through our website or approved booking platforms. Walk-ins are not available.

How Do I Pay?

Full payment is required to confirm your booking.
All bookings must be made through our official website or approved booking platform.

Can I Cancel or Reschedule?

  • Cancellations made more than 48 hours in advance may be eligible for credit or partial refund unless otherwise stated

  • Cancellations within 48 hours are non-refundable

  • Reschedules are subject to availability and may include additional fees

Can I Bring Someone With Me?

Yes — just keep it minimal so the session stays focused.
Standard studio bookings include up to 4 total individuals unless otherwise specified. Additional guests may incur an extra-person fee.

What If We Run Over Time?

Your booking includes load-in and load-out time.
There is a 5-minute grace period, after which overtime is billed at the posted overage rate.
